I purchased the Dog Treat Box as an addition to my LFL. It has been painted to match the theme of the library. It is a hit with the dog lovers who visit the library on a regular basis. I wanted more room in the library for books, and this attachment is the perfect solution.
We have a lot of neighbors with dogs who go past our corner Little Free Library, and because we have dogs, we often chat with them if we’re outside. One day, I got an email from Little Free Library that their dog treat station was on sale, so I bought one. I got it all installed on the post, filled with dog biscuits, added a roll of poop bags, and left a note for people to take a treat for their dog. Then, in a very serendipitous moment, the local grocery outlet had big boxes of small dog biscuits for an incredible price. I bought five big boxes. That’s gonna keep me going for at least six months, if not a year! The only sad moment was when I went out to add biscuits, and somebody had taken the entire role of poop bags. I left a note on the inside of the lid saying to please only take one so that everybody would be able to have one if they needed it. It’s been fine since. I love that whoever constructed this included that little shelf inside for the poop bags. I can’t tell you how many times we’ve either forgotten to take poop bags out on a walk, or we have taken poop bags on a walk and yet discovered that we would need two, not one. We don’t always carry an entire roll with us, if we think we’re just gonna be out and back quickly. So it’s nice to provide them for other people who walk by. Honestly, I love my little corner! We have lots of action at our Little Free Library, because we’re on a busy corner in town, near the high school, and there’s a bus stop right in front of our house. I also have it registered with a little tag that says it is in memory of my parents.With the added dog treats, it just makes our corner that much more friendly. Thank you for offering this! This box is perfect for more than just doggie treats. As a Master Gardener, I'm very interested in helping people learn how to garden - scientifically and sustainably. That's why these boxes are perfect Little Free Seed Libraries. I've installed on one my LFL and will soon be installing another at a LFL near our Master Gardener Demo Garden in Derwood, Maryland. I leave the doggie bags in the box too - as we get a lot of folks walking their dogs. But the box is perfect for seeds and has been popular since it was installed a few weeks ago. I would encourage LFL library owners to think "outside the box" and reposition this container as a seed library! I used a plant-based clear stain on it as well for added protection and have ordered a special hand-painted sign from a vendor on Etsy to make it more visible.

We purchased the dog treat box. We stained it and applied polyurethane. It looks fantastic. We painted a pressure treated post flat black to match the waterproof lid. Then we topped it off with a finial. Our only complaint is this. The spacer block which screws into the post isn’t thick enough. Once we installed the box to post, the back of the lid rubbed against the post each time the lid was opened. We took it off and added a thin shim. After that it didn’t rub. The company just needs to make the mounting block a hair thicker.
We're a high traffic kid and dog neighborhood, so we love that we can cater to both groups. The dog waste bags are a nice touch, though I wish there were a better way to advertise they're in there.
I love the doggie treat box. We have lots of dog walkers that stroll by the house. This is a wonderful addition to our Little Library. The quality of the wood and the construction is beautiful and prefect. I painted it the same colors as the Library. WE LOVE IT
Raw wood should be replaced with composite wood option for hot sris reguions like Tucson Az

This is so cute and very popular with our neighbor dogs! It has brought a lot of joy and I think it also brings a lot of people to check out the library. Highly recommend!

The interior of the box is so small and awkwardly arranged that it's not going to be that useful. In a humid area, I don't want to leave treats out without putting them in an airtight container and I don't want bug either. The interior is too small (~4x4).
Love it I put up a sign “Fur My Friends” and put a picture of one of our dogs.
This is an awesome product. It is very well made and a treat to every dog that comes by. I received great feedback from the neighbors.
