The very first Little Free Library was built by our organization’s founder, Todd Bol, as a memorial tribute to his mother who was an educator and lifelong reader. Today people everywhere are setting up Little Free Libraries to:
- Celebrate the life of a loved one,
- Remember an important day,
- Honor a retiree, and
- Acknowledge the dedication of a teacher or librarian
